The terms that apply when you use ExpenseFlow
Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully. They set clear expectations for using ExpenseFlow and form an agreement between you and Siam Mahmud Khan, an independent developer operating through an individual Apple Developer account (“ExpenseFlow,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, accessing, purchasing, or using the ExpenseFlow iOS app, widget, cloud features, premium features, or AI tools (together, the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms for you. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and a higher minimum age may apply in your country.
You may use ExpenseFlow only where the Service is lawfully available and in compliance with applicable law and App Store rules.
ExpenseFlow is a personal-finance organization tool. Depending on the version, configuration, device, and plan, it may help you record expenses and income, create budgets and savings goals, track debts or lending, schedule recurring records and reminders, scan receipts, generate reports, export data, sync across devices, use widgets, and receive AI-assisted observations.
Features may be added, improved, limited, suspended, or removed as the Service evolves. Some features require an account, internet access, a compatible device, a third-party service, or a paid entitlement. Remote configuration may determine whether a feature is available without requiring an app update.
ExpenseFlow provides organizational information, calculations, and automated suggestions. It does not provide financial, investment, accounting, tax, legal, credit, or insurance advice, and it does not act as a bank, financial institution, adviser, fiduciary, broker, lender, or accountant.
Budgets, forecasts, reports, reminders, exchange assumptions, receipt results, and AI responses can be incomplete or wrong. You are responsible for checking important amounts, dates, categories, tax treatment, repayment obligations, and decisions. Consult a qualified professional when a decision could materially affect your finances or legal rights.
You may be able to use core features as a guest without creating a cloud account. Guest data is generally stored locally and may be lost if the app is deleted, the device is lost or damaged, or local storage is reset.
If you create or use an account, you must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and promptly address suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law says otherwise. Sign-in may be provided through Firebase Authentication, Apple, or Google and is also subject to the provider’s terms.
Do not share authentication tokens, attempt to use another person’s account, or create accounts to evade limits or restrictions.
You keep ownership of the financial records, receipt images, notes, prompts, labels, and other content you enter or create (“Your Content”). You give us a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, process, copy, transmit, and display Your Content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service or comply with law. This permission ends when the relevant content is deleted, except for limited backups, security records, legal obligations, or information already shared at your direction.
You are responsible for Your Content, including whether you have permission to enter another person’s name, debt, payment, receipt, or other information. Do not upload unlawful content or information you are not entitled to use.
Our handling of personal information is described in the ExpenseFlow Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
ExpenseFlow is designed to work with local data, with optional account-based cloud features. Sync and backup are conveniences, not guaranteed archival services. Network failures, account changes, software defects, provider outages, conflicts between devices, or user actions can delay, duplicate, alter, or delete data.
You should keep independent copies of records you cannot afford to lose. Review synced information after changing devices, restoring a backup, signing into a different account, or importing data. We are not responsible for a loss that could reasonably have been avoided by maintaining an independent copy, to the extent permitted by law.
Receipt scanning and text recognition may misread an amount, date, merchant, tax, or line item. Confirm detected information before saving it.
Notifications and recurring entries can be delayed or missed because of device settings, battery state, operating-system behavior, time-zone changes, or permissions. They must not be your only method for remembering a payment, deadline, or legal obligation.
Location-based currency suggestions are a convenience. They may be incorrect near borders, while traveling, or when device location information is unavailable. You remain responsible for selecting the correct currency and interpreting exchange values.
Before sending your first AI coach request, ExpenseFlow asks for your permission and explains that an AI request may include your prompt, recent conversation, and relevant financial context. Approved AI requests are sent to Google Gemini through Firebase AI Logic for processing, and Google’s terms and privacy policy also apply. If ExpenseFlow introduces another AI provider in a future release, the Privacy Policy will be updated before user information is sent to that provider.
AI output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, biased, or unsuitable for your circumstances. Do not rely on it as professional advice or as the sole basis for a financial or legal decision. Review every recommendation, decline or turn off AI data sharing if you do not want financial context sent to Google Gemini through Firebase AI Logic, and avoid submitting personal information that is not needed.
You may not use AI features to violate law, another person’s rights, provider rules, security controls, or usage limits. We may impose request, token, model, or availability limits to protect the Service and manage cost.
ExpenseFlow may offer free features, monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscriptions, and a one-time lifetime purchase. The product name, included features, price, currency, trial or offer, billing period, and renewal information shown by the App Store at purchase are the controlling purchase terms.
Payment is charged by Apple to your Apple Account. A monthly or yearly subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it through Apple’s subscription-management controls before renewal. Apple controls billing, renewal, taxes, refunds, and payment methods. Canceling stops future renewal but normally does not end access already paid for. Removing ExpenseFlow from your device or deleting your ExpenseFlow account does not cancel an App Store subscription.
A lifetime purchase is a one-time, non-consumable App Store entitlement to the premium features identified as included with that product. “Lifetime” refers to the supported commercial life of ExpenseFlow, not the purchaser’s lifetime, and does not guarantee that every future product, external service, or separately priced feature will be included forever. We will not take away already purchased access arbitrarily, but availability still depends on App Store verification, compatible software and hardware, and the continued lawful operation of the Service.
Eligible purchases can be restored using the same Apple Account, subject to Apple’s systems and rules. Refund requests are handled by Apple except where applicable law requires otherwise. We may change future prices or plan availability; a subscription price change is handled under Apple’s notice and consent rules.
You control where an export is sent. Once you share a CSV, JSON, PDF, image, or other file, its handling is governed by the recipient, destination app, cloud drive, printer, or service you selected. Check exports before sharing because they may contain sensitive financial information.
Notifications may be visible on a lock screen. Widgets may provide quick actions and can open parts of the app. Configure device previews, widgets, permissions, and access controls according to your privacy needs.
You agree not to:
We may investigate and restrict activity that reasonably appears to threaten users, providers, or the Service.
ExpenseFlow relies on services and frameworks provided by Apple, cloud backup providers, authentication providers, AI providers, and any custom service you configure. We do not control their availability, policies, security, outputs, or changes. Your relationship with a third party is governed by its own terms.
Links or integrations do not mean we endorse every statement, product, or practice of that provider. You are responsible for the endpoint and credentials you enter for a custom or self-hosted service.
ExpenseFlow, including its software, design, branding, text, and original materials, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by applicable law. Subject to these Terms and the App Store rules, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service on compatible Apple devices for your own lawful purposes.
This license does not transfer ownership or permit you to copy, distribute, sell, publicly exploit, or create derivative works from the Service except where open-source licenses or applicable law expressly allow it. Third-party components remain subject to their respective licenses.
If you send an idea or suggestion, you allow us to use it without payment or confidentiality obligation, provided we do not claim ownership of your unrelated personal information. Please do not send material you consider confidential unless we have agreed in writing to receive it that way.
We work to keep ExpenseFlow useful and reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be unavailable because of maintenance, provider outages, internet conditions, security incidents, legal requirements, or events outside our reasonable control.
We may update the app, change technical requirements, retire a feature, or stop offering the Service. Where reasonably possible, we will give appropriate notice of a material discontinuation that affects paid access and will honor any rights required by applicable law or App Store rules.
You may stop using ExpenseFlow at any time. A signed-in user may request deletion through Settings > Account > Delete Account. Deletion may require a recent sign-in and will attempt to remove the authentication account and associated cloud data. Local data on other devices, previously exported files, limited backups, security logs, or information held by independent third parties may require separate action or may remain where law permits.
Account deletion does not cancel an App Store subscription. Manage subscriptions separately through your Apple Account.
We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a serious or repeated violation, fraud, security risk, legal requirement, non-payment, or harm to the Service or another person. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. Provisions that logically should continue—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms—survive termination.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, and uninterrupted availability.
We do not warrant that calculations, reports, receipt results, reminders, sync, backups, exchange assumptions, or AI responses will be accurate or complete. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ExpenseFlow and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of profits, opportunity, goodwill, or data; or financial decisions made using the Service.
Our total liability for claims arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for ExpenseFlow during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) USD $100. This limit does not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including where applicable liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so part of this section may not apply to you.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to reimburse us for reasonable losses, liabilities, and costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service, Your Content, or a material breach of these Terms. This does not require a consumer to indemnify us for our own negligence, misconduct, or violation of law, and it does not limit non-waivable consumer rights.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer protections in your country or region continue to apply.
Before filing a formal claim, you and ExpenseFlow agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the matter by emailing expenseflow.feedback@gmail.com and allowing a reasonable time for a response. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief, using an available small-claims process, or exercising a right that cannot be waived. We do not require private arbitration unless you separately agree to it where lawful.
If you obtained ExpenseFlow through Apple’s App Store:
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, providers, law, or business practices. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a change is material. Changes apply prospectively from their effective date. If you do not agree to revised Terms, stop using the Service and, if applicable, cancel your subscription before its next renewal.
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about the Service unless separate written terms apply. If one provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect and the provision will be adjusted only as much as necessary. Our failure to enforce a provision once is not a waiver. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent; we may transfer it as part of a lawful reorganization, sale, or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable privacy obligations. Section headings are for convenience only.
